Cheshire VAG

The year was 2003, ClubGTI has its meets over in North and South Manchester and over in Chester, but the middle of Cheshire was lacking a good Volkswagen meet, if a trip to Stoke was your thing – a very active meet was happening in Newcastle.

Car meets in the area where a plenty as the max power and cruising generation was in full swing, but these all happened at night and attracted a lot of attention from the police and other authorities, so with that in mind a small group of Volkswagen enthusiasts launched Cheshire VAG.

Cheshire VAG was a multi brand, anything from the VW Group was welcome, VW – Audi – SEAT – Skoda and Porsche, they held their meets at the Plough and Flail pub in Mobberley, and invited all the local car groups and forums to become a big collective, once a month and normally after a show.

In its peak 60 to 70 cars would attend and they topped out at 100 cars after the Tatton Park show in August 2004.
